Training Update
I am proud to say that I am still running at the end of week 2. A couple days ago I was even able to run 3.25 miles without having to take a break and walk. We did have to stop and wait for a light to cross a main road. I was able average around a 12 minute mile which is the fastest I have been able to do so far. I was very happy with that run.
A typical weeks schedule looks something like this. Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturdays are run days with long runs on Wednesday and Saturday. Monday and Friday's are rest days and Thursday is cross-training. Seems like a lot written down but it hasn't been that bad to keep up with.
My first race is a 5K on February 13. I am looking forward to this even though I might get a little nervous as it gets closer. Scary to think this will be the shortest race of the year. I guess I had better enjoy it.
Matt continues to be an amazing coach. It has been fun running with him. He is extremely patient with me and always knows how to encourage me if I get down or frustrated.
On to week 3.
